The Past and Present of the Three Gorges

The Three Gorges Dam is located on the Sandouping Plateau in Yichang City, Hubei Province, 38 kilometers upstream from the Gezhouba Water Control Project. It is currently the largest concrete hydroelectric power project in the world. The Three Gorges is composed of the Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge. The Three Gorges Hydropower Station, also known as the Three Gorges Project or Three Gorges Dam, is situated on the main stream of the Yangtze River between Chongqing City and Yichang City, Hubei Province. The dam, which stands on Sandouping just upstream of Yichang, forms a cascade power station with the Gezhouba Hydropower Station downstream. It is the world's largest hydropower station and the largest engineering project ever constructed in China. Today, let us take you on a journey to explore the charm of the Three Gorges Dam.
